2011 trail cam pictures of bear

Here's a few pictures from my trail cam with just salt and mineral blocks out. This year is my first time going bear hunting, let me know any size estimations you can give me. Thanks.

Looks like a sow and her 2 cubs. Should be some other nice ones in the area though. Not that I am an expert, but the one bigger bear and the 2 smaller ones tell me that. I would say the cubs are about ready to be chased off by looking. Good luck hunting this fall!!!

real nice sow with second year cubs, by the looks of it. Those cubs are on the large size. 3rd pic looks like their back but hard to tell. Cool pics. thanks for sharing. If the sow was solitary id take her. Now if your hunting this year you cant hunt with in a 100 yrds of that site, since it would be considered a test site, so you have to move a hundred yards away. But thats a good thing with what ya have there, cause i'd shut it down an let momma an teddies time two move on an open it later. Even thou it looks like all three would be legal to take, ya dont wanna take a sow with even 2nd year cubs. Funny she hasnt kicked them out yet. All three are vaulable to the resource at this stage. later boar

Im no expert either but if that sow came in without her cubs I almost would have thought its a boar. By looking at the head, it has a short snout and broad head. Maybe its just the angle. What are your guys thoughts if the cubs werent present. How could you tell? I know if she came in during daylight hours and you could get a better look at the shoulders and rear. But in low light and she was the only one in that pic. I think I would have pulled the trigger.

Yeah, I thought the same thing! Short and wide nose- Is it a boar with a couple year and a half olds? Sure looks that way.
