dog in heat?

How often do female dogs go in heat? I know she was in heat 2-3 months ago when she was at the trainers and I think she may be going back in heat. What are the signs of it and how often do they go in heat? I know she has been more "affectionate" lately.

I'm no expert, but our chocolate went into heat at 10 months which was in march of 2010. We didn't get here fixed that summer so I was going to have it done in March 0f 2011, but she went into heat again in February of 2011. So we finally got it done in May this year.

So my experience only shows one time per year.

Some have 1 and some have 2 cycles a year, some mark really well befor and after a cycle some couldn't find a white turkey out in the field if you tossed it for them during there cycle, signs would be swelling, and the obviouse bleeding..

My yellow lab comes in every six months or so. Like mentioned above, you will notice swelling and bleeding. I think that it would be unlikely your girl would be coming in again after only 2-3 months, but I am no expert.

my friends lab is five months almost to the day everytime. My lab is usually 6-9 months and they are sisters.

About every six months or so. Usually the vulva swells up and there's some slight bleeding. Some dogs in season will have personality changes (slight to major).
