One-Eyed Jack

Recommended Posts

We got got these pictures off one of our mineral sites the other day. After looking closely my buddy suggested hes likely blind in one eye! Evidently hes got a bad catarachs or his tapetums been damaged because nothing seems to be reflecting. Maybe got in a rumble last fall wink

A neat looking dud 3x3 anyway. If he'd beef up a bit he'll be a 6 worthy of a few walls! Nice to see...

Do you think hes a 3 year old or just 2? Id love nothing more than to shoot a big mature 6 point but I think this guy could use another year or two. I bet when that velvet comes off hes going to look freakishly spindly. If he thickens up he will look real nice! I like that hes wide with big brows though!!!

Bear... he may not have an eye on that side but I bet hes got an EAR that works TWICE as good!

He looks more like a 3 year old to me, by the time he fattens up this fall he will have a pretty big body.

A couple years back I had a buck come in with one eye socket which was white. It was opening morning of gun season and I waved my arms on my stand while the "blind" eye was facing me and he never moved even though he was only 20 yards away. Neighbor shot him about 2 minutes after he left me.

I had a spike on our land that year which had 8 or 9 inch spikes. My guess is that is what poked this bucks eye out....
