What happened to Miltona?

Recommended Posts

What has happened to all the other lakes? Miltona isn't the only lake that is really slow this year. The spring we had this year was very abnormal. High water levels, cool temps, lots of rain. Now we have heat, humidity, but water temps are approaching the 80 degree mark in spots. It's been a messed up year, attribute it to that.

We know it's not likely but if spearing is allowed there and the locals many hate muskies, it doesn't take much to shake one heck 50 off the spear not to mention angler mortality rates, but I agree it's just a messed up season and I don't put anything past those swearing lake shore owners, they have made it clear they will kill as many as possible and I guess that's there right, if you don't have a conscience who cares but that's not the reason for poor fishing this summer.

On the lakes I've been on this year very few fish have been in traditional spots. I've marked a lot of elongated fish (DI/SI showing them) suspended about feet down over deep water. I've tried trolling them this year but I don't think they've budged. I've also picked up follows on the electronics that were so far down I couldn't see the fish despite being on lakes with 10 foot + water clarity. The fish are out there, they just aren't biting.
