Low Sights/Shooting Low

Recommended Posts

Hey All - I'm new to the bowhunting scene, but excited as ever to get out there this fall. I had a question about the sight on my bow. It started out shooting rather low, so I moved the sight down, and at this point it is down nearly all the way it can go. The bow still shoots about 4 inches low at 20 yards. It is dead center in terms of left/right, but just shoots a little low.

I was wondering if there was anything I could do. I tried to take the sight off and attach at a lower angle, but that isn't really possible as far as I could tell. I can probably move it down a touch more, but not much at all.

Is it common for the sight to be that far down? Any help would be great! I'd rather not bring it in, especially if it's something I can do myself.

Thanks!

Yup move your arrow rest up or the rest itself, depends on what kind of rest you have of course. Take a picture of your set up looking down the arrow shaft and from a side shot that might give everyone and idea what you're dealing with?

Make sure that when your rest is up like it would be at full draw that the arrow is centered with the berger hole. If its not then the rest needs to be moved up. Also, make sure if its a drop away that it is coming all the way up at full draw. I would check this before I started doing anything with your peep.
