311Hemi
Looking for recommendations on a smoker in the $150-200 range...anyone have any suggestions? The wife sent me a link to the Masterbuilt M7P 7-in-1 Smoker and Grill with Pan and Basket Set...but I really don't what to look for. This one can be used as either gas or charcoal. It only has 11 reviews.I also see the Masterbuilt 20070910 30-Inch Electric Smokehouse Smoker on Amazon with a ton of reviews (150+). hockeybc69
I have the 30 inch and have used the [PoorWordUsage] out of it for 3 years. I love the convenience of it. Set it and forget it. The only downside I have found is that it doesnt create a very deep smoke flavor like a wood/charcoal smoker can do. Dont get me wrong it smokes things very good, but I do like some things with a deeper smoke flavor in it at times. The electric element just doesnt have the ability to get the smoke rolling with chips, like you can get with nice big chunks of wood in a firebox. eyeguy 54
I have the 30 incher also. Good way to go and easy. I just gotta find an easy way to clean the grills.
pushbutton
This was my intro unit as well. Yep, easy and economical. And yep, biggest problem is that it is hard to get a good smoke outside of early spring and late fall when it is cooler out. A little frustrating, but you get what you pay for, and was happy not dropping 400. Might try to figure out how to get a dial type vent on it, think that would help.
