DTro
Well there are unwritten rules in a lot of pasttimes and a lot of folks that don't abide by them. that is what rules/laws are for. If you punch someone only because he is a jack hole, then you better be ready to write a check.I'll let you Manly Men get back to your All Star Wrestling. I'm out. harvey lee
I agree to some degree Darren.Years ago this was all taken care of in the pits and then along came attorny's and lawsuits and the whole world changed.Maybe not so much for the good of all. harvey lee
Exactly why NASCAR will do nothing to stop a driver on probation. They love the ink and could care less about any costs to the teams. But at the same time, they have to limit teams to what they can spend to equalize them all. Then they wonder why they are losing fans. Between the COT cars and the way they enforce the rules, it's a wonder NACAR has not lost more fans.

harvey lee
100k in the stands and they are losing fans?????? Here you go gregg, these are some big decreases in fans. I do not make this stuff up.According to estimates from official box scores, attendance decreased in nine of the first 10 races, with double-digit drops at Bristol Motor Speedway (14%), Phoenix International Raceway (13%) and Talladega Superspeedway (13%). International Speedway Corp., which owns Phoenix, Talladega and 10 more tracks that host Sprint Cup races, said during a first-quarter conference call last month that crowds at its speedways were at 81% of capacity. "The year is unfolding as predicted," said Roger VanDerSnick, ISC's chief operating officer. "We knew admissions would be down.Gergg, Bristol is a track with 2 races and it seems they typically sell this one out. Now they also are down by quite a bit. LMITOUT
100k in the stands and they are losing fans?????? Yes, since the stands can hold north of 150,000 at some tracks.
Uncle Bill
In the Racing world there are a different set of do's and dont's. I'm guessing you don't spend too much time in the pits at your local dirt track? Actually I have, 30 some years ago when you where most likely shatin green. As well as the drag strips. Remember the drag strips ? I did'nt think so. I'll sit back and let you enlighten me some more on "what's up with racing". "Grew up in the country". About spit the bailey's right outta my coffee. harvey lee
I remember Bill. Been going to tracks for 40 plus years and my son has been racing for the last 20.I remember Mn dragways and the others also.Lets see, I have been to most dirt tracks from bombers to Sprint cars including Knoxville and a few others. Also been to ARCA and ASA asphalt tracks and pitted for an ASA car.Been to the Cup races also.We have raced in approx 12-13 states. My son has won a National Championship with his go kart and also won the Race of Champions race at the Boone Supernational Race for his dirt modified. Not bragging but simply letting you know that a few of us might have a clue also.I know there are quite a few others here who also have a clue and know what they are talking about
gregg52
sure attendance is down and the stands arnt full nascar priced them selves outa the market very few businesses are up in this economyas i said before track owners got greedy when it was peaking and built stands to seat 150k and thought that was going to continue forever yes bristol had a waiting list..unless you are realy in the chips a race week end is very exspenive specially motels and air fair as rule i dont think you can count on locals filling your stand i'm in business here and 99% of my customers are 50 and overand i dont think they are going to full the stands every weekso i really dont think kyle is hurting attendance or the racing for that matter ...nascar peaked and is probably about where its going to be give and take some ups and downbut again you cant dump that in the kids lap for petes sake who did you pit for in asa harvey ??? I could never afford a car of my own. I may have been just a high school wanna be helping friends with their race cars. But I was there. And it was cool. harvey lee
Gregg52His name was Mark Kahloff. Mark was from western Mn. He raced both ARCA and ASA but for only a short period of time. Didn't have quite the funds for those guys. Here is an old FM/HSO post about some ASA and ARCA racers.http://www.hotspotoutdoors.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/2182943/ARCA_series

That doesn't have anything to do with 'greedy track owners' or ticket prices now does it?
