rod storage in SUV

Any one got any good ideas of how better to store my walleye gear in the back of my tahoe? I am sick of it rattling around in the back and the tips being all the way in the front.

What I did in my 4Runner is to put string in between the cloths hangers and the handles to get in the truck. Made loops in back for the handles to fit into and in the front I used Velcro to keep them in place so the would not touch. Not the greatest but at least it kept them from banging around.

+1

I did the same thing in my Xterra and it's worked well for several years. Cost about $.20 I think.

If you have nice stuff and want to protect it Tuhle makes a rooftop carrier that is long enough for fishing rods. Not cheap, but probably the best way to carry rods in an SUV.

If you have a lot of 1 piece rods, the Tuhle roof top carrier system is the best way to go.

An inside roof system works too but they are a pain and still get in the way on long rods...yet they work. If you like your long rods with you all the time, the roof system is the best option and offers a lot of utility in the long run.
