Storing bottom bouncers...

Recommended Posts

So I've decided that I'm going to use bottom bouncers this year...for some reason, I've never tied one on before. So now that I've got a bunch of them, I can't figure out how to store them efficiently. Does anyone have any clever tips for storing them???

I to use the Beckmans but they could be made better. The elastic band have broken and the wire will wear a hole in it somewhere and poke out. The rubber bands that come on brocoli bunches make a great fix for the broken elastic.

I like the pringles can, does one flavor seem to work better than the others? laugh

Speaking of storing Bottom Bouncers... you may want to check out Fin-Tech's new bottom bouncer. The weights are interchangeable on the wire so you only need a handful of wires and you can store every imaginable combination of weights in a small Plano box. SLICK!!!

I use "beckman's bottom bouncers bags". Its a bag that design for storing bottom bouncers and it can fold so it doesn't take up much space.

This is what I use as well and it works nice for bouncers under 2 oz. The bigger ones are generally too tall. But I only ahve a few of the bigger ones sone this really helps with the clutter.

Thanks for all of the tips, guys. I'm leaning towards the Pringles tin. smile

Another (related) question: Is it worth the extra money to buy the BB with colored weights, whether it's just a neon color or a perch pattern? I didn't buy any of the expensive ones, but I might be persuaded if they are more effective.

OK guys! After careful consideration, I've decided to "take one for the team" in an effort to make this innovative bouncer-storage system available to you in the shortest time possible. Send me your full Pringles containers and I will return them to you empty and ready for use within one day. This offer is good only for the "all-American flavors": cheddar, sour cream& onion, and original flavor. Free return-shipping on these flavored containers is guaranteed. "Foreign/exotic" flavors such as salt & vinegar, spicy guacamole, and seaweed will be considered only with an accompanying "paid-in-full" voucher for (respectively) a Canadian fly-in fishing trip, a 4-day peacock bass fishing expedition, or a two day fishing trip for marlin. Other flavors may be considered if requests include a 20" box fan.

This is a limited time offer good until the makers of the single-purpose bouncer bags realize the value of multi-level marketing and begin offering these bags in "trail mix", "ham & cheese", or "barbecue" flavors.

No need to praise me! It's just my nature to sacrifice for the good of others. cool

BTW Pringles come in 79 flavors/variations.

what are you fishing for when using these and how do you know when you have a bite? arnt they too heavy to detect a bite?

To answer you questions in order

Walleys

You feel the bite like any other

No

The bouncers I use are usually between 1 and 2 ounces, more if I'm deep or fast. Try to keep your line at that magic 45 degree angle and you will use more lead than you think.
