Goodbye Minnesota...sort of

Tommorrow morning bright and early I head off to freshmen year of college in Stevens Point WI. First time living out of MN for an extended time, so its pretty crazy leaving all my fishing and hunting haunts behind. Although I'll be back for for some deer and bird hunting, its crazy not to be with the family and dog to do it. Although I do get resident licenses for both states now so thats pretty cool. Gonna have to start scouting the new area as soon as I arrive! Well, wish me luck, and by this time tommorrow I'll be posting from WI!

NO need to worry, there are lots of places to hunt and fish very close to SP. I spent a couple years there during my misguided youth and got in some good grouse/duck/deer hunting as well as decent fishing all around.
Try getting ahold of "can it be luck" on the Wisconsin forum, he lives just a ways north of there and could probably put ya on some places.
One word of advice tho, beware "The Square"

Good place to go. Stevens Point is my hometown - lots of good hunting and fishing opportunities in the area. Definitely head to the square. Enjoy the easy access to the outdoors. OH yeah, Go Pack!

Thanks everybody. Haven't been posting cause my net isn't up and running yet there, but I'm back for the weekend. Was fun at Waconia boys, good fish all around. I will definetley be doing some scouting in the next week or two for spots, and I will investigate that WI forum. About the CNR inquiry, I am undecided right now, but it is likely I will find myself in the CNR program eventaully.
