what happened to Leech Lake

I have been going to Leech Lake for about 10 years and the last 3 or 4 have been terrible. Its not like I spend a few hours on the lake either, I have been there dawn till dusk for 4-5 days at a time. It seems like a couple of walleyes is all I can catch at a time. I have tried everything. I go at night trolling, day jigging, lindy rigs, etc....nothing works well. Is the population that down. I have heard of netting it out, to Cormorans....any ideas?

personally i believe that the walleyes are still there they just have to much natural food, the amout of small perch is crazy, the walleyes are eating the natural food and are to full of perch to go after anglers baits.

So for the last fifty years there hasn't been a good perch hatch?????

Funny I heard from a lot of people early in the season that the fishing this year was the best it's been in several, and it was actually good fishing.

im sure there has been a good perch hatch the last 50 years but last few years its been crazy. do you have any better way to explain it? did every single walleye get lost in a deep hole or something? i was just posting my opinion dont jump all over me for wat i said.
