Broadmoor, McNaughton, Hobey Baker awards are meaningless with out NCAA championship. I would trade all of UND's side awards for one NCAA championship. Even though UND has 7 smile

So it sounds like you would be happier being a gopher fan as they have way more national title's than you in the last 10 years?

Makes sense, winning it all which ND has prov-in it can't do under Hakstol no matter the NHL caliber talent of players really is the end all be all.

Props to you for being here I've never seen so many "1,000's" of fans disappear off the face of the earth so fast!

Can't wait to hear Scarves take on the Sioux Fan's actions after the 1st goal and of course the end of the game incident which incredibly blows away the Hakstol move from a few years back!

Its all in good fun. i kind of enjoy the back and forth on here. Bear and Scott were willing to own up to there side of the bargin. I keep letting the bet go on for another series just for sh!ts and giggles. I still believe UND is the best team in hockey just not that day, oh well. Maybe next year. Go Dogs

I must of miss this. Is this an incident that happen at the game?

I missed those incidents, too. Tell us more, Pier!

I actually lay a significant part of last night's loss at Hakstol's feet, too. The dump-and-chase wasn't working and should have been abandoned about half way through the second period. The Sioux were not moving their feet or passing well all night long.

Absolutely, players are who play the game, but it's the coach's job to fix both those things when the players don't do it on their own. All that talent . . .

Brooks, it'll be a fast month. You'll see. smile

The incident that I saw at the end of the game involved a Sioux fan waving "double hakstol's" at the Michigan player after he put it in the empty net. No doubt this is isn't the first fan to give a player the finger but the camera man got a nice close up of the action when he zoomed in on the Michigan players. It was pretty funny.

That explains it. I got up and left the room when the puck went in the empty net, so I didn't see it. I'd probably have flipped the Michigan guy off too.

The Hakstol bird looks photoshopped to me. Couple PS telltales there that are easy to see.

Steve I don't know where the image came from or if it is fake or not but the Hakstol/Ref/Finger incident is pretty well documented. I think he even gave a public apology the next day.

A fan did the same thing on the 1st Michigan goal too. Not as good as the Double-Hak but not bad either... grin It's almost like there was a previous history because it looked like the Michigan player went directly be-lining for that area.

Go Dawgs! Go Tiger... smile

    • Truly sorry to hear that duffman! I know that feeling.  Keep the good memories
    • Chamois passed away this weekend a couple days short of her 13th bday. What a great dog to hang out with here at home and on distant adventures. Gonna miss ya big time my little big girl.
    • Sounds pretty sweet, alright. I will check them out, thanks.
    • If you really want to treat your wife (and yourself) with a remote operated trolling motor, the Minn Kota Ulterra is about easy as it gets.  Auto stow and deploy is pretty awesome.  You just have to turn the motor on when you go out and that the last time you have to touch it.   24V 80lb.  60 inch shaft is probably the right length for your boat.  They ain’t cheap - about $3k - but neither one of you would have to leave your seat to use it all day.
    • Wanderer, thanks for your reply. I do intend for it to be 24 volt, with a thrust of 70-80. Spot lock is a must (my wife is looking forward to not being the anchor person any more).  With my old boat we did quite a lot of pulling shad raps and hot n tots, using the trolling motor. Unlikely that we will fish in whitecaps, did plenty of that when I was younger. I also need a wireless remote, not going back to a foot pedal. We do a fair amount of bobber fishing. I don't think I will bother with a depth finder on the trolling motor. I am leaning toward moving my Garmin depth finder from my old boat to the new one, just because I am so used to it and it works well for me. I am 70 years old and kinda set in my ways...
    • Dang, new content and now answers.   First, congrats on the new boat!   My recommendation is to get the most thrust you can in 24V, assuming a boat that size isn’t running 36V.  80 might be tops?  I’m partial to MinnKota.     How do you plan to use the trolling motor is an important question too.     All weather or just nice weather?   Casting a lot or bait dragging?   Bobber or panfish fishing?   Spot lock?  Networked with depth finders?  What brand of depth finders?
    • We have bought a new boat, which we will be picking up this spring. It is an Alumacraft Competitor 165 sport with a 90 horse Yamaha motor. I will be buying and installing a trolling motor,  wondering if I can get some recommendations on what pound thrust I will want for this boat?  Also, I will be selling my old boat, is there a good way to determine the value on an older boat ( mid-80's with a 75 horse 2-stroke  Mariner motor)  I will appreciate any help with these questions.
