List of little cars?

Recommended Posts

It was a deal car and everything was stock. Actually everything was perfect with it the day I bought it. There were just too many things that were going wrong. Nothing really big, but after about the fourth or fifth problem in a year and a half, I decided I'd had enough. I still miss the car, I just wish it had fewer problems.

Again that is why i love having roll up windows no power seats no heated seats. a lot less can go wrong smile Ill be thinking of you when I am driving home tonight bobbing and weaving through traffic on 494 like I am on the autobahn

:Pwink

My ex sis in law would agree about how bad VWs are. She had a brand new Passat or Jetta (can't remember) and it spent more time in the shop then on the road.

However, I am looking for a great gas mileage car, and would love to find an old VW Rabbit Diesel. I think they get close to 55 MPGs

how many times did she get her blinker fluid changed?

There are a lot of crooks out there saying this needs to be fixed and that needs to be fixed. just saying. I guess I am just very lucky with my VW??? Putting over 100K on it and spending less then 1200$ in repairs to it is pretty darn good!

1200 in repairs? Or does that include maintenance? If it is just fixing broken stuff it seems high.

That would include oil changes and breaks.

Most people would spend half that to get wheel bearings replaced. Or a water pump, or a timing belt.

Just get one of those little teeny ones that looks like a VW Bug that got squished between two buses. That way if it breaks down you just roll it over into the ditch and let the Adopt-A-Highway people pick it up on one of their outings.

for sure, if it includes normal maintenance that is reasonable. Golly, a 100k miles could be 30 oil changes at 25 bucks is 750. Plus a few hundred for brakes, maybe a set of tires, coolant etc.

Now if it was 1200 for repairs that are not part of normal wear, that would bother me.

I'll put in my 2c, I commute 108 miles a day, have for years, I researched the [PoorWordUsage] out of everything. I didn't want the maintenance price of a Prius,, (RESEARCH IT) and I didn't want the crappy reliability of an aveo,, (research it) I wanted the most fuel economy I could get without going hybrid and all the maintenance, and wanted reliability..... I bought a Toyota Yaris (research them) guys are getting 100k before brakes are needed, I'm averaging 38 mpg mixed. and the technology today is incredible, more headroom and feels bigger than all the passenger cars I test drove like the fusion or aura, Malibu, Camry etc..best car Ive ever bought. Actually thinking of getting another for the wife and found out because they love the value of what you get for your dollar a lot of family's that buy one get another...pretty good endorsement right there. Only issue is trying to find a good used one. hard to find.
