April 16th Workshop

I plan on attending! I would love to hear some on drop-shotting. I was getting beat in tournaments last year by guys who were catching fish deep by drop-shotting. I learned a bit, but didn't have confidence in it yet, so when it counted I never used this technique (even though I know it can be very effective!).

Hey Deitz,

You have the Humminbird SI units on your ride, correct? Love to hear about your years worth of experience with them.

In general on electronics, how you use your electronics down here in the TC area compared to how Rob uses his up in the DL area for example would be kind of interesting to hear about. For example, you might have an icon for a rock pile, while Rob has icons for individual boulders on a reef. Stuff like that would be cool.

Still kind of kicking ideas around, but I think I will be talking about soft plastics systems for smallmouths - in particular, using soft plastics as search lures vs. slow, finesse type presentations.

Cheers,

RK

When discussing soft plastics discuss the various ways of rigging them, types of hooks, and size of hooks. Maybe touch on the growing popularity of soft swim baits and all the different styles.

I'm interested if I don't work that weekend. Definitely want to get more involved this year.

One topic I'd like to hear about is how to locate bottom composition transition areas, river channels, and other specific structure locations... As well as what these areas might look like on your sonar and map. I always hear about concentrating on a specific type of structure or cover but feel lost when it comes to actually locating these areas on purose rather than just getting lucky.

Turns out I'm caught in the mix of too many things going on that weekend and I'll be taking part in the Sturgeon Excursion on the Rainy River that weekend.

Bummer, as I could use the help with my bass skills.
