Finally Wallyes on White Bear

Wow, finally after nothing but northerns, 4-3-1 pounders all of January, 2-1-11 at 7:00 pm the eyes came in, 4-1/2, 3, 2 1/2 pounders, all in 1 hour, then quit. I'am in 21 feet of water, fishing 10" off of bottom with fat heads. I'am out from Mahtomedi beach, don't get on there, very bad access, I go to ramsey beach, drive across. Hope rest of month more is like last nite, best of luck to all.

The walleyes are VERY hit or miss, and almost always miss on WBL. Sounds like you were in the right spot, right time. Congrats though, I bet that was fun!

white bear has been coughing them up for a while now, there is just no size to most of the walleyes. It is a bummer you posted this but I also want to see if or how much of the city out of belle aire comes over to mohtomedi now, you could have spelt the end to a good bite, but who knows, it's still being discussed on another thread: do the postings on here dictate where people fish, I guess this is a perfect situation to find out, i'll sit back and watch.

My fattest eye out of the Bear last year (ALL of 2010) was a whopping 3/4 pounder. Just did not have the luck on eyes last year, especially on WBL. (well, I caught fire the 4th quarter of 2010, but not on the bear)

Traffic is all ready high, I'm think it could be an experiment to see if the huge city starts to move across the lake.

It only takes a few people moving to a spot to create a colony. If enough sheep move, the whole flock will follow.

Though, WBL isn't exactly an unknown lake. More than a few fish walleyes out of it.

The black helicopters are not the ones to worry about. Their only a decoy for the blue sky colored ones.
