sheepheadslayer
I was told that I will have a hard time finding a place to mount the transducer so that it will be able to shoot out the sides and not interfer with those rear humps on the back of skeeters. I don't have a jack plate so that is not a option. Anybody have one mounted on a SX skeeter?
Larson15
You can mount it right next to the motor mount on the transom but make sure its low enough that its below the rear humps. I would take a string from the bottom part of one hump to the other and get as low as you can. You will probably have to trim out a little bit when you are idling so you don't get any interference as well.
delmuts
I've been wondering about that also, for my ranger 680C! Right now mine is in storage, so just trying to figure it out in my mind. I was thinking just below the brackets for the motor( i seldom idle with the motor trimmed all the way down), or my boat has a step/cut back on the bottom of the transom. (but not sure about turbulance?)
Nick Kuhn
Go to sideimagesoft. There are also sorts of photos of how people have mounted the transducer on a wide variety of boats.
olski
These ducers aren't nearly as touchy as they once were. Try to find a spot where you can mount it flat, trim your motor down and make sure you are putting it in a spot with the clearest shot to the port side. Just make sure you don't go to far the other way and mount it to low. Not only will you look silly with a 20ft roster tail. but sooner or later you will see your $200 transducer skipping behind your boat
TonkaBass
I mounted mine centered below the jackplate, and haven't had any issues. Olski, nice interview on Fishing the Midwest bud!
