Brad B
Fleet farm has Lakco brand lazer cut spears and I believe Cabela's in Rogers also has them. I have looked at the nims at the bait shop by me and they are okay looking but I don't know for sure of the quality. maybe merkman or elwood or spearhead might know more about them. Marine general has a amish made spear that is sold under the name cannon arrow spears.
Gordie
I'm not a big fan of the lazer cut spears but thats me. someguys like BNS wont use anything else and love em.I like old school spears. hand crafted for me it doest get any better than the feeling of useing a spear thats older than I am know that the traddtion lives on thru me each time I use it.Mr pike I remember seeing a few of the amish style spears at the bait store on clearwater where we had last years first GTG and I belive they were in your price range looked to be a good spear. If you can spend a few more bucks and get a good and you will not be disappointed wiht it, there are alot to choose from and thats the hardest part. BOUNCED
I'm not a big fan of the lazer cut spears but thats me. "doesn't get any better than the feeling of useing a spear thats older than I am" Didn't know they had spears that old? I'd have to agree with Elwood. I've yet to see a store bought spear that impressed me. All the spears I have are hand made with quality tines. Sure you'll pay a bit more but the quality is far superior and it will last for generations.
Jameson
I just saw the nims spear at Cabin Fever. It looks like it would get the job done. Sure would be nice to have a few extra bucks laying around for some of those nice hand crafted ones they have at the store right now. Early Riser
Ron and Olga Nims from Millington MI have been making spears since about 1980. They typically run from about 65-75 dollars for the weighted 7 tine. They look like pretty functional spears. They also make neat little perch spears for MI.
