Got bored in the stand last week

That's cool Frosty, it's always nice to see the swamp we share, that stand looks like the one my dad and I built on the creek years ago, 10 inch poles etc., that siding, right in the NE corner of the 80. Frosty you missed your calling as a photographer. Your next shot will be an open sight muzzleloader in about 8 days. Is the swamp freezing up yet ? Pray for no snow until it does freeze solid then bring on some snow. Did you see any grouse ? This was 1 of the only years I can remember not jumping any. Are the deer nailing that corn heavy ? Bought my musket license last night, got 1 more zone 1 night left and haven't seen a deer yet so my faith was low enough to get that muzzy tag. I should be hunting honkers again, man are they from food to water to food to water daily now, getting prepared for their journey. Good luck frosty and it'll be interesting to compare notes once muzzy gets kicking, I'm pretty much going to be a saturday, sunday, monday during muzzy season so I can get 9 days in exactly what rifle zone 2 is but hoping for a possible shot at one, I just filled my speed loaders, what speed but got 7 loads ready, original black powder, a cap, and a 370 grain maxi ball dead on at 100yds ready to rumble.

yea, that's the one up on the creek. Weather forecasts are looking like some lows in the teens. That should start doing a number on the swamp. Not sure I am will make the opener. Likely just the middle weekend.

Right on I'll keep you posted if anything is seen or shot etc. My stand is exactly like that 1 but older as we built it in 1987, but it still is in great shape, my dad has the plans for how much wood etc. is needed, etc., solid yet I would think, pretty sure we built it in 1996. That picture is pretty cool and you're going to tell me no mature bucks in 9days of shooting light jumped over that little creek ? That spot should be money every year really, it's the crossroads between north and south plus east and west, somewhat anyway, I should charge rent on that stand, it wasn't easy getting those materials back there, 1 half a backstrap sound fair, jk.

Just four young ones all week. Another in our group passed an a young 10 pt and a few other small ones. Seed for next year!

I will trade you that half a back strap for an offer to drag out the next monster you kill smile Hopefully in the next couple weeks...

As for grouse, yea I saw at least a couple every day. They usually busted off when I least expected them. Not good for the aging ticker.
