I think scents can and do scare some experienced bucks. Maybe not all of them but mature bucks that have been around the block a few times, they know the the real thing. Just think about how many people use scents every year, the deer educate themselves or they get shot. In the past I have even had young bucks ignore them.

Be using Deer Dander, Golden Estrous, Dom.Buck Urine, and plenty of scent killer spray. Have had Tinks 69 in a mock scrape dripper since last thursday. Scents are primary way of communication for white tail.

I rattled a buck back to me last year.

had a dripper with estrus in it.

The buck came back looking around and then went right to the dripper.

He touched it with his nose and litteraly jumped back 6'. He walked off and I told myself...I should have hung the dripper higher.

The smell was curious enough for him but maybe I had my scent on it that threw him on alert.

young 6 pointer and we both got educated.

I almost always have put out doe p on scent pads. Don't really know if it has been a positive or a negative. This year I am going to go against the grain and not use any scents and see what kind of results it yields.
