CRAZYEYES
This afternoon I cleaned a pheasant with a well digested mole in its crop. I've cleaned a lot of roosters but have never seen this before. The head was still well intact but the body was pretty well furless and digested as well as the crop was pretty full of corn from today. Any one else ever seen this? I know they eat insects but not mice or moles.
Jack Peterson
Sweet! did you take a picture? I've never seen that, but it wouldn't surprise me. We have millions of moles/shrews in our CRP grass. Yuck!
CRAZYEYES
I wish I would have taken a picture of it cause it would have made a pretty gruesome shot! I did take a picture of the birds on My phone to brag to my buddy he should have come with today. 1/2 hour walk and put up 4 roosters. PurpleFloyd
When I find one with a trigger finger in there I am going to start to get a little nervous.
2thepointsetters
There was a story in the Duluth news about a ruffed grouse eating a 22" snake.
123fish
Quite a few years ago in the last ten minutes of the day on the last day of the season I watched a rooster chase a mouse down a snow filled waterway. He didn't get it but I did get him. R. Miller
I cleaned a rooster a few years ago that had a small garter snake in his crop...never seen a mole though, crazy. Usually I just see corn/soybeans/sunflower, etc.
