yakfisher
I haven't posted for a while, but I ran across this a couple of weeks ago and thought some of you might enjoy seeing the ugliest airplane I've ever seen. This is not photo shopped, I ran across this Antonov 225 while in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Steve Foss
It's not uglier than finnbay's bedraggled gray jay.

bobbymalone
my cursory knowledge of physics is not enough to understand how things like that can actually fly.
midex717
The AN-225 was built to carry the Soviet's version of a space shuttle, you can see the attachment points on top of the fuselage. I believe this is the only one that was built.
Paul
THere was been several Antanov's that have landed at Hector Feild in Fargo over the years, picking up loads of Farm and Construction machinery headed to Western Europe. they are absolutly HUGE
yakfisher
I often see 4 engine Antonovs all over the US, but this is the first time I have ever seen this one. I would believe midex717's explanation. It was just massive, bigger than a C-5. I have no idea how they would change a blowout of one of the inner wheels.
