I just got back from a trip to Last Mountain Lake in Saskatchewan and I thought I'd share my trip with you.

Last Mountain Lake is a drive-to destination that has been featured quite a bit on In-Fisherman lately. For 3 days we went out with Rob Schulz, the owner and guide at G & S Marina. Here are some of the hightlights-

On day 1, Rob caught a 13.5 pound walleye. I caught 7 northerns between 36 and 42 inches. A friend of mine caught a 42.5 inch northern.

On day 2, My buddy caught a 12.07 pound walleye and I caught a very fat 42 inch northern.

On day 3, I caught a 15.3 pound walleye!!! After we released it, it caughed up a burbot that must have been 10-12 inches. You can see the tail sticking out of the wallye's mouth.

This place has to be the best drive-to trophy fishing in North America. That was a trip I'll never forget. I can't wait to go back!

I think it's about a 13 hour drive from the Twin Cities. I had to pick up a friend in Danbury, WI on the way, so I didn't drive straight there. We were gone 5 days, which is 2 days of travel and 3 days of fishing.

I am definately going back next year! I was told Doug Stange went there for 3 days in early June hoping for a enough footage for a show. He ended up with 4 shows worth of footage.
