Clint Bowyer failed post race inspection and was docked 150 points and went from 2nd to 12th in chase points. Nascar also fined crew chief Shane Wilson $150K and suspended him for the next 6 races.

I heard today that they are going to look at it.

The damage that caused the points to be dock may have be caused by the wrecker having to push him to victory lane.

I read that too Sifty. Also he didn't fail the post-race inspection. He actually passed that but NASCAR hauled his car back to the shop and reviewed it all in detail, then nailed him because that team had been warned before.

I'm all in favor of the penalties for this kind of stuff if it's legit. I like stock car racing to be more towards the stock side, otherwise I'd watch formula one. However, they need to be very certain that it was an intentional violation versus a race-caused failure.

Either way, what a big blow for a good driver.

Now where are all of the guys hollering "Cheater!" I know if it was Knaus that there would be a whole 3-5 page thread touting the "craftiness" of the guy and why he was a cheat. Sad to hear because I think Bowyer is a heck of a driver but Nascar has to pick on someone. There isn't a car in that garage that meets spec in all ways shapes and forms. Funny how they try to regulate the playing field to produce better competition for the fans and the more they do the more vanilla the races become. It will be interesting to see how they do through the rest of the chase.
