peerchking
06 sporty stuck in 4x4 I have the correct air presure in the tires. If I put it on the lift and put in gear (any gear) it starts out in 2 wheel drive but after 5-10 seconds it kicks in to 4x4. Any ideas ?thanks
Rick Reisewitz
i had a older polaris that would do that and it was the retainer spring that went around the roller cage in the dif. Dirty fluids would also make it hang up in 4wd. After my 4wd went once it went monthly it seemed like
gr8icefishinmind
Your first and main problem is that you drive a polaris!! just kidding......I would check your fluids! Not sure about popos now but you used to have to push in a button to engage the 4x4......if that is still the case i would check the switch!! Macgyver55
Maybe some moisture in the 4wd switch? Something has to be feeding voltage to actuate the hubs. I'd try disconnecting the harness to the switch and see if it still does it, or if you have a voltmeter, check the switch for proper operation. rundrave
first and foremost the rear wheels have to spin in order to engage the 4wd. If you try to stop one of the front wheels while you have it up in the air can you stop it by hand or is it really truly staying engaged? I would try that first...if you can stop the wheel by hand you dont have any issues.if above doesnt work, then have you changed the hub fluid? try changing the fluid and that could also be an easy fix. if not then your going to have to pull apart the hubs and inspect the armature plates as well as the spring retainer on the clutch hilliard as described above
