Public land deer?

I just found out a week and a half before the season and a whole summer of scouting that we may not be able to hunt the land we have hunted our whole lives. The owner passed away and the nephew doesnt want us there. Does anyone know of decent land maybe metro area for deer hunting or anywhere?

well... there's two huge WMAs in the metro area (Gore's Pool and Carlos Avery) and some federal refuge land

good deer hunting is available on them all but there's also a lot of pressure

I dont mean to Hijack the thread sorry- Hey GoBlu or anyone else that can help us out, I have a question if you dont mind- I was thinking of taking my 12 year old Boy To Gores Pool for the youth firearm hunt in Oct and maybe boating in from North lake .Ive spent alot of time waterfowl hunting north but have never spent any time hiking around. looking at maps I really dont see any roads entering it from that side. My Thinking was that boating in may seperate us a little bit ftom the rest. I just want his first deer hunt to be a safe and pleasurable one. Thanks allot- Eyes
