I know that no one want's to give up there secret fishing spot, but I need to find a nice quiet lake to go to that's not busy but has some decent size bass. Lately Ive been getting 12-13" sizes and that's fine and fun because at least I'm catching something.I am very new at the whole fishing experience. But I would like to up my chance to get a nice fat pig.

A lot of the lakes in the metro area have big bass in them. Bring up a map and just start looking at the DNR lakefinder survey to see what fish are in there. There are a lot of good little lakes in the west metro that dont have alot of pressure. Looks for the lakes that are catch-and-release and also look for the lakes that are just electric motor only. Right now is kind of a tough part of the year for fishing...water is warm and bigger fish can be hard to find. i was out saturday morning and a lake where i have caught really nice fish and i managed to catch about 20-25 bass but nothing was bigger than 15inches. Good luck and keep fishing....also fall is right around the corner and the big girls will start feedin like crazy!!

There are a few lakes in the southwest metro that are CR only for bass. If you want big ones, try there.

Look around, try new lakes. You'll find one with a few big girls in it. Finding new lakes is half the fun anyway.
