Big Dave2
I'm just wondering if anyone knows what the going rate is these days for indoor heated boat storage? I have a vacant building that needs to be heated anyway because there is water and I figure it would hold anywhere from 15 to 20 medium or smaller sized boats. I,m trying to figure out if there is any money to be made in housing boats for the winter.Does anyone here store their boat in a heated facility? If so, what do you pay? Thanks in advance for any help.
Deep_Sinker
Come up with a fair per foot rate (based on boat length only) and advertise it. I pay $10 per foot for the year for cold storage (Oct. - April).

It is a heated block building.
Chode2235
That's about right. Are you charging by boat feet, or length of the entire package. I would go for it if I were you, especially if you are planning on heating the building anyway. The only thing to be aware of is insurance or any other liabilities you would have, but I imagine you would just need to increase the limits you already have. Which shouldnt be a ton of money. But if you can make a few bucks in the winter and pay for your heater and heat, then go for it. I know I am looking for some winter storage. If you decide to go forward with this, let me know.
CAMAN
Saw a listing on that list started by craig for $65 per month for a 10'x20' spot in a heated warehouse.

Does that sound fair?
smallieobsession
I pay $75 a month for a heated storage space and electricity for an 18ft boat. I could maybe find it a few bucks cheaper but the guy who rents the space is awesome. Don't tell him but I'd probably pay $100 a month or more given how good a space it is and how well he has treated me. get the boat out whenever I want...even in winter if need be, etc.
Chode2235
Sounds like a fair price to me. The rates for this stuff is all over the place from what I have seen. The big challenge you will have will be finding people. But this site will do a lot for that, and if you aren't worried about filling every inch of your space it will make it less stressful too.
