Hooking percentage

I've been experiencing a strange trend this year. I'm losing bass left and right! Lost a really nice fish this weekend and I've had about enough of it.

Seems like they're throwing hooks when they jump much more often when I'm using spinner baits. I'll get a hard hit, and what I think is a good hook set, then bam...off. Hooks are sharp, but when I get the bait back in my hands, it's bent up. just the wire leading to the hook, not the hook itself.

Anyone got any advice for dealing with this very annoying issue.

I use a Fenwick HMG Spinning rod with a Symetre 2500 with 14lb fireline.

I'm thinking maybe the lack of stretch in the line is letting the fish put slack in the line and throw the hook.

Was having trouble hooking fish the other day on a buzzbait....caught the first few and could not hook up at all with the next 4-5 even though they appeared to cream it...pulled it up to put on a trailer hook thinking that this would solve the problem...only to find that the hook on the buzzbait was completely broken off....pretty good reason for hook-up difficulties....LOL It was one of those baits with a flexible hook on airline cable. All that was left was frayed wires. Hook must have stayed with the last fish I caught.
