Blackburn optioned to AAA

Its about time. Twins sent Blackburn down to AAA today to make room for Capps on the active roster. I'm sure glad we gave him a 4 year $14 million contract last year. He sure has earned it with ERA near 7 in 18 starts this season.

People complain about Mauer getting "overpaid" but never seem to mention this guy.

trade him for what a new washing machine for the club house or maybe 5 or 6 new baseball bats? Who would want him and his contract

It amazes me how he could start the season so good then just tank.

It's called baseball it's a tough game in particular the pitching part.

It's the best place for him right now. Take some pressure off and get back to his original form. I agree he's making a lot of money to be toeing the rubber in AAA, but we need him to return.

We need that depth if there are any injuries or if B&S struggle in the future.

Didn't he have some personal issues earlier in the year...like a death in the family...he sure seemed to hit the wall fast.

Nick can pitch and we can use him for sure. He just needs some time to get back to where he was wityh no pressure.

I would guess within a few weeks to a month, he could be back.

Blackburn will be an effective starter in the bigs for a long time in my opinion. He needs to work some things out, but I think he will be back. I hope the others pitch well enough down the stretch so we won't see him this year, but I think he will be back. It is really hard to be as good as he was for stretchs and he doesn't rely on GREAT STUFF that some guys all of a sudden lose, so I think some tweaks will be made and he will be back.

His contract isn't atrocious either, ask the Yanks how man wins they got for Pavano's contract!!
