Bigbartguy
hi folkslast time I had the ATV on a trip, I ended up puncturing the tire and getting a flat. I was in a town of about 50 people so my options were pretty limited. Tire shop plugged the hole and put a tube in my tire (they were actually tubeless tires). I asked about how long this should last and of course they couldnt really say.anyone have any idea how long this might hold up?? I hate buying a set of new tires, as these only have 1000 miles on them, although I should add that I have no idea how long ATV tires last. how many miles do you typically get out of an ATV tire? Mostly dirt road drivingthanks!
Dozer
I see no reason why it wouldnt last till the tread is wore off.
Dave S
depending on the size of the hole that it couldn't be plugged. With nothing to stop the grit from getting into your tire, you may experience more flats once the gravel works it's way between the tire and tube.At a minimum, they should have used a uni-seal which patches and plugs the tire. Augusta
I had the same problem once, same solution, mine lasted 2,000 miles, then I replaced the tire. Beware of sharp turns on that side of the machine. You can and will tear off the valve stem.
stumper
Depends alot on the tire. How strong the tire is will determine how much wear the tube sees. My tubes in mine are going on 2000 miles and not a problem yet. My buddy tubed one this spring and the tube is now shot from the bad area on the tire rubbing on it. Bjjams
I've ran tubes before on my stock tires. One thing I was told was to air them up a little so the tube doesn't twist in the tire.

Plus 1 and throw some bb powder on the tube so it will slide when filling the rest of the way up or it can bind up and rub thin.
Bigbartguy
thanks folks! I'm waiting until this one blows again. Actually newer sets of standard tires/wheels are VERY reasonable on the *raigs**st online classfieds HSOforum From folks that upgraded to fancy wheels/mudders. I'll be shopping there when the time comes. ALOT better than paying $100 a tire
