Garza and the Rays

After being on the bad side of 2 or 3 no hitters (including a perfect game)this season, congrats to former Twin Matt Garza for tossing a no-no tonight.

Strangely, after I took a shower after work tonight, I put on my Rays shirt.

The fact that you own and would wear a shirt of an opposing team says alot

Actually, my brother lives in Sarasota, and has sent me a Rays and Bucaneers shirt, along with a Chucky Bucs visor. Who am I to turn down a free shirt or two? The visors only been worn once, and not outside the house. Not a visor guy

I got a A's shirt from a relative before and I threw it in the garbage

The second best thing about the Garza game is that it wasn't against the Cubs.

Gotta agree with Sled that it would just seem too weird wearing another team's colors - hat or jersey - free or not. Now, if they are maybe your second or third favorite team MAYBE.

a true fan has no second or 3rd favorite team

C'mon, Sled, an all-or-nothing attitude?

I agree, that a true fan will never change his allegiance, but not allowing me a top 2 at least seems a narrow-minded way to enjoy the sport of it.

And please try to remember some of us are a Cub/Hawks/Bulls/Packer fan, and we SOMETIMES go through really rough years (substitute:decades, centuries) whereby sanity dictates we try to find a silver lining somewhere.....

Now I'm not saying you ever root for the truly hated opposition, which for me is Windy's fave, but isn't it just fine with you then if my 2nd fave team is the Twins?

Please re-consider your definition of "true" fan.

Or do you just wanna hog all the fun of ending up ahead of the WSox to yourself?

So after the twins get swept in the 1st round, am I not allowed to cheer for the rays to beat the yanks in the ALCS?

JB.... please do!! Nothing better than the Yanks getting beat, well except the Whities getting beat I guess!

If youre a true Twins fan, you should.

Well, for one- The Cubs aren't a threat to anyone, AL or NL.

Secondly- I am a homer, BUT- I have also had the pleasure of living abroad, and in other states in the US. You have to get out more. Guys like you in fantasy have either 99% Vikes or Twins on their teams. Theres a big world out there!

Ive been to 42 US states (Ive lived in 5 states) and have been out of the US not counting the Military.

and you?

I dont play fantasy baseball or football cause I think it causes people to root for players off other teams and distracts from the real team goal of YOUR team winning. Infact I think the whole fantasy stuff is stupid.

Well, lets see- Guam, Japan (2 diff places, 6 times), South Korea, HKong (under British rule), Australia, The Phillipines, Canada, and Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.

^^^^^^ in less than a year.

States? Yeah, I have lived in 7, and been to a few I think, I can't remember- been too busy. Next? Yep, guess what- been there, done that. Shellbacked. Date Line. .50 cals, M60s, M16s, M14s, 40 MM grenade launchers all at sea.

Let's see if I can remember the few I've been to:

All in Chi-town (Stadium, Soldier Field, Comiskey, US Cellular, Wrigley, and the Horizon/Allstate for Mleague hockey)

and St L Busch, and Milwaukee, and KC (for a pro football game) and I stood outside the Green Monster in Boston for a few mins once....guess that makes 9.

You did mean pro right? Cause don't even think I could ever remember all the fields I played baseball in as a kid (and some of them were STADIUMS) but I digress.

Visited several states: IL, WI, IA, MN, NC, SC, FL, NY, NV, CO, HI, TN, and NE.

Been out of the country twice for business to the Netherlands (just HAD to see the Red Light District while there)

Now to show you I am not a nomad: lived in 1 state....the state of confusion.
