Stillwater / Hugo area bass lakes???

Hello,

I'm looking to head out fishing this weekend in the Stillwater / Hugo area. Problem is I am not very familiar with this area and need to find a good bass lake to hit. Taking a kid fishing who has a real passion for it, but just doesn't have the means to go fishing very often. Any tips on lake choices in this area would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Bald Eagle

All of those lakes will produce enough fish to make a kid happy

If you want numbers hit Big Marine. Endless amount of 13-14 inch bass and lots of pike.

Big Marine rarely disappoints... Always tend to do well out there!

Here is a good tip - - don't leave ANY valuables in your vehicle, including phone chargers. I don't want to be a downer, but if you don't fish these lakes much, please do take that precaution, as the losers are out there "working".

With that said, I think Big Marine is great choice too. Go to any point and start catching fish

Thanks for the replies so far. I like the river suggestion, but my unfamiliarity with it makes it a tough choice for this weekend.

Don't know if this is even a possibility, but has anyone had any luck chasing bass on Square Lake?

I like Lake Demontreville, Big Marine, and Big Carnelian.

Demontreville and Gervais are good NE Metro lakes.
