Skeet Reese Revo

I picked up one on clearance for $179.99. Curious what peoples opinions are? How does this compare to the Premier or the Revo STX. I've heard great things and not so great things, but respect the opinions on this board. I've been a Shimano guy for years since I about threw my old Abu Ambassador in the lake a about 7 years ago. I did a search on Skeet Reese to see what was out there already and didn't see much so apologize if this topic has been discussed at length.

Also curious if anyone's taken advantage of the WileyX sunglasses offer. Another pair always comes in handy when I drop my Costas in the water (which I'm certain will happen).

I found it kind of weird how it was discounted 100 bucks and already off the shelves most places. I bought a different abu for around the same price. I kind of wish I would have gotten another curado to be honest. Wish they would have the lower ratio reel.

The reason for the discounts and sales on the Skeet's Revos, Skeet's contract is up with Abu this season and he's doing a line of reels for next year with Wright and Mcgill since he has had relative good success with his rods. Or thats what I hear.

Skeet leaving Abu is one of the reasons. But the main reason is that they updated the Skeet Revo this year. The old one didn't have an external brake control like the STX, the new Skeet Revo has that on it now and that reel is still $280.

I own a Skeet and love it. The long handle gives you a ton of power. I use mine mainly for Spinnersbaits and cranks since it has 24 IPT, but its a very versatile reel. I also own a Premier and its pretty similar to the Skeet, but without the sweet handle. The STX's are really nice, but feel really heavy after using lighter reels like the 50MG7 and the Steez.

When you order the glasses make sure to pick the P-17's. They are the better of the two choices.

Yea, I heard he was leaving Abu for another vendor. Rumors though right? I've heard all sorts of crazy things this year. I heard one recently about Reaction Innovations that I hope isn't true. Who knows though.

I did order the P-17s, I got a big head and I wanted the blue mirror anyway.

The Skeet performed really well, but can't say I like it that much more than of my others. It does cast really nice. For $179.99, its a good price I suppose, but I don't think I'd pay $280 for it, I'd just get a Chronarch. Curious to see what people think of the newer one.

I bought a Revo Toro a week before muskie season started and sent in my order form for the Wiley-X glasses just a few days later and they haven't come yet. I was expecting they would take a while to come but never thought it would take this long.

Did you do the online expedited claim? You can check status online if you did. Mine took about 6 weeks. Sweet shades.
