Looking for a good mono i can use for leaders when im fishing the river, im not liking the fireline as much as i use to

stren makes the best mono out there IMHO. im a big fan of their magnathin line

Yeah, tried to buy some at Fleet the other day and all the 6lb small spools were sold out. I figured that was a good indicator of what others like.

i've tried that line a few times, and absolutely hate it. the memory on it is horrible!

Diddo on Stren. Though Stren is made by the same company that makes Trilene I find stren holds up longer than Trilene. Ive always had problem with trilene getting brittle especialy if the line is exposed to the light to long this does not happen to Stren, go figure.

I'm giving Sufix siege a try this year on another rod so far so good, but Ive talked to a few that didnt like it.

I only use Vanish for leaders. Back it with anything but Vanish.

I am pretty much anti-Trilene anything these days, I think there are a lot of better options out there. Gamma copolymer is probably my favorite.

Vanish is great leader material. Keep in mind that flourocarbon sinks. I never use it as my main line. Mono, fireline for the main line and then vanish as a leader.

I am more of the anti- stren... i usually string up w/ 4, 6, 8# maxima ultragreen depending on the application. I will throw on some trilene in a pinch. Hard to find but, worth it, always at cabelas.
