Has anyone been out to demontreville at all? i heard the boat ramp was in pretty bad shape. From what i heard it would be almost impossible to get a bass boat in there. Does anyone know if the DNR will ever get out there and dig it out. I might have to bring a shovel out there my self and do some work...i love fishing this lake.

I was there about a month ago and it was a nightmare getting my boat back on the trailer. You will be digging for a long time to make it work. I dont know if they have dug it out at all or even plan to. its a shame the ramp is in the shape its in. I am going to drive down there after work today and check it out.

So i wrote an email to the DNR this morning and heard back withing an hour. I wrote an email asking about Demontreville and Jane. Here's the response:

Those two lakes along with several dozen others in Washington and Chisago county (in particular) are several feet below there regular lake level. They have been that way for a few years now, and thus there is not much we can do to the accesses. You’ll notice at Lake Jane we haven’t even put the dock in at the access because the lake is just too low to accommodate it. In the case of Demontreville we opted to put the dock in at a 90 degree angle simply to get a dock in for potential use. Another factor with Demontreville is that because the lake is so low, if we keep attempting to remove stuff from the lake (the “blowhole” ridge your refer to) we will eventually cave in the shoreline that is immediately adjacent to the access there. With such extremely low lake levels at so many accesses we don’t have very many options except to hope for rain and a raise in lake levels. We don’t have staff, budget or equipment to be dredging out the number of accesses we manage due to low lake levels, nor would we likely get permits to do so. When and where we can, of the 113 accesses we manage, we have attempted to deal with issues that we can-but these two lakes are presenting unprecedented challenges. Please note that we continue to monitor them, along with all the other ones, and if an opportunity arises to do anything different we certainly will. Thanks again.

yeah the launch is impossible right now. The launch is a terrible design in the sense that it runs adjacent to the shore line instead of straight out into the lake. They already have a small blowout there and all they need to do is extend that blow out a little further and it would probably work.
