Cleaning a Pop-up.

My wife recently purchased a used Starcraft Pop-up camper. It is in nice shape but when I went to clean it up...I found getting the dirt and grime off the shell of the camper difficult to do. I was able to get it white again with a lot of elbow grease..etc. Any product suggestions that would make this easier in the future...any particular cleaners..etc?

Also, the canvas was also in good shape but a little dirty. I didn't get around to trying to clean it...but are there any products or cleaners that work well on such material? Thank you.

I like to use simple green. Use it full strength on bad spots, then mix some in water and use a brush/sponge like you would with your car. It should work on the canvas as well.

There is a product at the dollar store called Awsome. At full strength, it melts the dirt away off of anything. It's strong enough that you should test a small spot first. There also is a chart on the side of the bottle for how much to dilute it depending on how you are using it.

We use Oxyclean, just mix the powder with warm water and it cleans canvas, boats seats and just about anything. We mix it on the strong side and use rubber gloves but it sure works.

A lot of it is like carpet cleaning. Get a good foam and let it work before you start scrubbing. Several years ago we were green with pollen. It took a couple washes to get clean. Always try to give the tent roofs a whip before you fold up the camper.

Black Streak remover in the camping dept of Wally World works very well.
