Cecil, I assume you have used the micro guides. What do you feel the most notable improvement over the conventional guides is? Sensitivity, weight reduction ect.

Looked at a bunch of Ducket rods last night and bought one. Seem to be very light, almost as light as Loomis which says alot, and they have basically a $35.00 replacement program if you break the rod.

All this talk about weight. If it's not a jigging rod who cares. Are we a bunch of old men? (I don't like those fish they fight to hard. My arms get tired.)

Do some of these rod use glass (S,R.)? Are they cranking rods?

I know some of you would do a lot better with a Hybrid rod so you wouldn't be pulling hooks out when using shad-raps and such.

I have never found two rods of the same make and model that were the same. You break your favorite rod and buy one just like it and it's not the same.

So, look the rods over and get the one you like. It just might be a gem!

With weight reduction comes some sensitivity. I would say weight is #1 and ease of storage for me is #2. You can get 2 rods in a rod locker tube and not worry about them getting damaged or tangled.

Went ahead and ordered a Kistler Magnesium with micro guides yesterday. Tackle Warehouse was running a 15% off Memorial Day sale so it was a good deal and I also got a free shirt. I should get it next Tuesday and will let you know what I think of it.

I used my new rod today and it was great. The sensitivity was amazing, I could feel every weed my T-rig hung up in and then shake it out and let it glide back down. I think I got bites I otherwise wouldn't have gotten if I didn't do this. I am totally sold on micro guides. All in all I think it is a great rod and the price is good too.

The Vendettas are great rods and my guess is that if you compare them to another rod, apples to apples they will stack up nicely. I'm not sure about the HMGs, haven't looked at them in a while, but Carrot Stix and a lot of other manufactures will rate a rod MH when a Vendetta or St. Croix will call their a M or ML. So a 7' MH Vendetta may seem heavy in weight compare to a 7' MH Carrot Stix, but you are getting a much stiffer rod in the Vendetta hence the more weight.

I own almost exclusively G Loomis IMX/GLX and St. Croix Avid/Tournament/Legend Elite rods and I don't think I would be missing much if I replaced them all with Vendettas. They are greaet rods ata great price.
