aanderud
Oh geez Darren. That is about the funniest thing I've read. I was WAY behind on this thread, had a lot of catching up to do, and it was worth it. Nice find, and good job to all of those who kept saying "there's a hidden GFCI somewhere". soldoncass
Don't you just love it WHEN A PLAN COMES TOGETHER? Good job DTRO. Logic....process of elimination....usually solves problems like that.
soldoncass
Sea Nymph, I bet that will make your day many times in the future. Doesn't say much for that manager though.
Surface Tension
Good! Now you'll look like a hero to the wife for fixing that dead outlet and adding another under the work bench. Just hope she doesn't ask too many questions.
JohnMickish
Now what am I going to read, this was entertaining.
jerkbait
Ok, so was able to take a look at it today, since I felt a little pressured from you guys I put the pegboard on myself so I planned on taking off the pegboard and cutting a hole in the drywall to see where the wire is going. I would've bet $1000 that I didn't cover up an outlet with the pegboard. .....and I would've lost $1000 Just glad I did't pay someone to figure that one out. Simple press of the reset button. OUCH Thanks to everyone who helped out here and kept me going. I now know what that extra circuit breaker powers and it ain't going to happen again I Knew it was going to be a GFCI tripped. I think I even geussed in one of my post that you were going to find a GFCI outlet behind the pegboard. Better to be lucky then good.
soldoncass
Dtro, You actually have a nice set-up in your garage, with that sub-panel. If the single breaker says 15 on the switch, I'd think about adding a 20 amp breaker, on a #12 wire (assuming there is room in the sub-panel), to another outlet, just for heavier tools. A lot of air compressors won't work on a 15 amp circuit, as well as bigger power tools (table saws etc.). Perfect set-up!!! On to important stuff......how has fishing been????? DTro
Yeah it was cool gaining an extra outlet in the deal and yes jerkbait, you nailed it. Now that I have everything working I plan on running another exterior outlet on the outside wall off that previously dead one.
