I have a 16ft lund rebel and looking for a new trolling motor, wondering what thrust I would be best off with. The old one was a 36lb and think it worked decent just wondering if a 45lb would be better. Let me know what you run on your boats. Thanks

I would go as big as you can afford. I have a 55lb. on my 16ft. Backtroller. It's great for 90% of my fishing but I have ran into scenarios where 55lb. just didn't cut it. I think an 80lb. would be fantastic on a 16ft. however, once you go above 55lb. it means you would have to step up to a 24 volt setup (2 batteries). Hope that helps.

55 lb vote from me too. If you fish big water a lot there may be a reason to go 24v, but I kinda doubt you would need to go to that extreme.

I get a whole weekend's use out of my 55/12 pulling cranks and spinners at dawn/dusk. This on a '08 Rebel with 84" beam.
