Does opener occur at midnight?

I was going to say I would probably have my line in the water fishing for panfish up until opener starts. Its not like the season stops on panfish for a few hours from sunset till midnight or anything.

YEP, if your using heavy jigs and chubs or something it may be a bit suspicious. A crappie minnow on a slip bobber, or some small twisters and your good to go. Rig up another rod or two for the Eyes and come midnight bust em out!

you can look for fish before midnight...your not fishing....lots of people have been out just looking for fish on the graph. from what iv heard they are not in their typical opener spots. we had an early ice out and a late opener.

Here is what i'm pretty sure the way the law say's!

12:01 is the leagal time when you can have you're line in the water to fish for walleyes.

You can look until you eyes turn red with any method you want via any electronics ever devised as long as you aren't intentionally fishing for walleyes you're good to go!

Good Luck to all, and to all a good night! grin

Ho Ho Ho!

Merry Walleye Opener wink
