Irish
I use off set hooks and sometimes screw in an eighth once weight into the nose of the baits.

Timmy D
Any of the cork screw style hook, as long as you add the Trailer Hitch keep bait in place. The cork screw always blows out the nose of your bait, then it's junk. The Trailer Hitch will get you a few more cast and possible a few more fish, it will at least save you some money using fewer baits.
gritsnham
Where all can you find those hitches? Hearing more and more about them and want to try them out.On the topic of frogs using offset shanks has always worker really well for me working the bait slow or fast. Soft frogs have always been a good hook up ratio for me so I have stuck with what works
Deitz Dittrich
Thorne Brothers, Mikes bait, Frankies all have them I know.
Timmy D
Also at Joe's Sporting Goods and Capras and Simply Fishing Marine or online. For me, I like big ewg so when the fish hits there is plenty of room for the frog to move out of the way of the hook point
Slob_Samurai
I agree that the corkscrew style hooks blow out the nose of the bait after a fish or two. I've been using Gamakatsu skip gap hooks for alot of applications. They work great with a cane toad IMO...
Reid G
I agree that the corkscrew style hooks blow out the nose of the bait after a fish or two. When that happens, add a little super glue to the nose of the frog. Then screw the corkscrew in real quick. That usually extends the life of the frog/swimbait for me. Craigums
Do you guys use a weighted hook to make sure the buzzfrog stays up right (similar to some swim baits)?
Slob_Samurai
With the skip gaps on the cane toad it isn't weighted. But when I use the Owner beast hooks on swimbaits they are weighted.
skolvikesallday
I like a 5/0 EWG hook, any of the good name brands will work. Im usually using horny toads. Ive tried 15+ different brands of buzz frogs and the Horny toads are still my favorite. Also super glueing them to the hook helps a lot. I save the ripped up ones and when I get a good sized pile of them I bust out the super glue and glue up all the rips and holes, makes them like new again.
