Call of Duty: Black Ops

It wasn't just the gadgets and features of WaW that were cheesy, but the game play itself wasn't that great. The maps were bad and overall it didn't seem as fluid as COD4. I still think COD4 set the bar and it hasn't been topped yet, even with MW2.

But isn't that always the case whenever you put a "2" on something? It'll never be as good as the first because the first one blew everyone out of the water.

I'm afraid with Black Ops is that it's going to be over the top with the number of people playing at any one time.

It's bad enough when you get on a bad team of 8-12, now you're going to have 3-4 x's that many people that could be bad?

Well I have to say that after watching some of the hands on demo's from E3, I think this game may just surprise a few people. The concept looks fairly fresh and the game play looks pretty legit. 2 things you can count on in life.....1) You will die eventually. 2) Any Call of Duty game will sell like wildfire! HAHA!

Really? After the Treyarch's World at War debacle I'm a little gun shy on what Black Ops is going to be like.

Granted there were things I didn't like about MW2, such as riot shields, heartbeat sensors, and ridiculous marathon knifers, but overall it was much better than WaW, IMO. Attack dogs? Puh-lease.

I was homeported on Guam, and guess what- War Dog Memorial, Guam USA:

So they weren't "attack" dogs, but other countries DID use dogs to attack enemies. Attack dogs have been used in warfare since the Romans. Just think, the modern day Navy uses dolphins for mine detection. Anythings possible!

Playing HCTDM on W@W earlier and I got nailed by another Molotov Cocktail. Would a soldier really carry around a fifth of booze?

Not modern day, but back in the old days yes! That is where the term "liquid courage" comes from.

Okay, this is coming from a guy that started with the COD franchise at WaW.

To me, Black Ops, so far, doesn't LOOK much different than MW2, other than a couple of added kills (little car, crossbow, etc.).

I might be getting burned out on buying these new games every year. Madden 11 comes out on Thursday, and I have ZERO urgency to buy it. I've bought everyone since '94.

Does this mean I'm finally growing up???? eek

Looks pretty interesting. I think Treyarch makes good games but after what they did with W@W and now from this preview it seems they ride IW's coat tail pretty hard. Scoring system, right down to "first blood" and "long shot" types of bonuses. Care packages are obviously back. Looks like Callsigns/emblems are back. Whats the knife action at the 30 sec mark? The RC car seems quite cheesy. The thermal cam that you can setup is cool. Wonder if that's equipment or a killstreak? Looks like you can save killcams or game play videos, that's cool.

Im definately looking forward to it. Hopefully they add some new twists to multiplayer instead of just a few new gadgets. Like MW2 and IW or not, atleast they tried hard to make a new game instead of repackaging MW multiplayer with a few new Killstreaks and weapons.

Wonder when they will announce the new zombie style game? They gotta have one...

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
