This barred owl sure isn't like the great grays in the bog who like their chins scratched but I am slowing winning him over. Hopefully soon enough he will just ignore my presence and go about his business.

And I want to thank you again for the barred owl box plans you posted. We've got a couple barred owls in the woods behind the house at our Bemidji area lake cabin, and I'm going to get a box up this summer and hope for next year. We've got one in particular we call Owl Pacino. He most often just does the Hoo-ah! call, and sounds just like Al Pacino in "Scent of a Woman." laughlaugh

those are beautiful pictures of the owl, another one of mother earths majestic wonders. last spring i was coming out of the timber from a morning turkey hunt and caught a large bird on the wing and watched it land in a tree about 80 yards away and when i hit it with the binocs i was totally awed and couldnt believe what i was seeing.marked the area snuck out called the dnr officer we met snuck back in he spotted it and confirmed what i had found a barn owl very very rare here that is another beautiful bird of prey. yes it is still here have yet to see a female but the dnr said if there is a male staying there is a female near
