shiltsy
Since I know everyone has been on pins and needles waiting to here how the new rig performed, I thought I'd send an update! First - if you're thinking Demontreville might be a quick/easy lake close by to check out your new boat, think again. The ramp is absolutely destroyed and you won't get anything longer than about a 12' boat in there. Trust me when I say you don't want to try forcing your boat in there and then get it back on the trailer straight. It will result in very cold and wet pants. Anyway, once I got past that fiasco I took her out on WBL. I am absolutely amazed at the difference between the TZX 190 and the SL 190 (fish and ski). The TZX is obviously much faster (with the same motor), but it's weighted and setup totally differently and handles 100x better running across the lake. Overall, I was pretty happy with the fish & ski, but this new boat just takes it to a new level. Outside of having to replace both trolling batteries and the onboard charging system, I couldn't be happier with the new purchase!
TR21HP
Congrats Shiltsy,A bass boat is going to feel different than a fish and ski but once you've been in it it is hard to think of driving anything else. I'm afraid you are going to run into the same problem on some lakes as far as the landings go. There was a lot of ramps that got tore up due to low lake levels last year and unless they've been repaired the problem is going to continue. Enjoy the boat! shiltsy
LuckyC, The support folks that I called on the charger didn't have any of that information, so hopefully I didn't just trash a perfectly good charger! Anyway, it's probably made it to the IGH landfill at this point, so someone might want to start lookin' for it! ;-)The new charger is pretty sweet and probably would have replaced the original unit eventually anyway. BigMike
I concur on Demontreville. I swung by there a couple weeks ago and the water levels are as bad, if not worse, than any time last year. That launch is in rough shape. Jane is still impossible.Congrats on the new rig. You should post pics.
