"Smoothie" Limit Creek Rod Company

i used the "smoothie" for the first time today on basswood lake. we went up to the border to fish for some pre-spawn walleye. the bad news. the fishing wasnt that good...only got one walter in the boat and lost a couple others. the good news. the "smoothie" is smooth. it is a 6'9 ML with a fast tip. the rod is very light and comfortable to hold. i could feel the very light bites of the walleye with the sensitive tip but could tell that if i did hook a big fish there would be plenty of back bone to bring the fish into the boat. This is a very nice rod at a very nice price.

check em out below.

Ive got the 6'6 medium heavy also and that is a heck of a nice rod also. Great for trolling cranks and it still has the sensitivity for jigging.

Being the extendable is a medium light I would think it is similar to the smoothie.I know it sure has the back bone to bring in a big fish. I hauled in a 36 inch flat head with it. Man that was fun.

Now I'm gushing and I got myself all worked up. I guess I'll go and get the Smoothie tomorrow. We just cant go wrong with the Limit Creek.

I've been looking at a new rod for this year, and don't have a good ML in my boat yet. Used a limit creek with Turk last year on the river and really liked the feel but not sure if it was a smoothie? Sounds like this is a great option, i would mainly be using it for jigging and casting cranks and stickbaits for eyes and pike. Paired with a high end Shimano or President and some powerpro? any opinions on the smoothie or the regular Limit Creek 6'9" ML for this type of fishing?

What reel would you pair the extendable with? Looking at trolling cranks with it...
I'm not up to speed on reels . What I'm running on mine are Shimono Sedona 2000 and 2500. I dont think they make the 2500 anymore, I sure like it, this one has the drag adjustment on the rear of the real

The line I'm going to respool and try the new metered Sufix performance braid on the Medium heavy then the Sufix performance stretch braid on the Extendable. The Smoothie I get I just may stick with a mono like stren or trilene or Sufix. The reel I may try out a Flueger.

No Bait Nate....the "smoothie" is the only 6'9ML rod Limit Creek makes. They have 6'6 M spinning and a 8'3 ML extendable spinning and then a 6'6 MH casting.

the "smoothie" may be a little light to be casting cranks with. if you plan to cast cranks a lot i would go with the 6'6 M.

any high end reel in the 2000-2500 range will work great for either the smoothie or the 6'6M.

im a mono guy...so that what im using now but i may try out some power pro this summer.

I used the 8'3" extendable a lot last fall trolling for walleyes. Paired it with a 4000 series Symetre spooled with Sufix performance metered braid and a 10ft fluoro leader. Dynamite for those shallow eyes. Hard to find the metered braid but noticed Gander in Eden Prairie has it. Changes color every 25 ft so easy to replicate depth with a spinning reel or a bait caster. And FYI it casts just fine.
