muskydeceiver
Cbrooks gave very good suggestions.Bucktail: You may want to go with a spinnerbait. A little more versatile if you only have one blade bait.Jerkbait: Wade's Wobbler is a good choice. Don't have to tune them and they catch fish. It would also be more durable than the bulldawg.Topwater. Can't argue at all with the Pacemaker.I would suggest you go to Thorne's grand opening this weekend. There will be a bunch of people that can help you out and there should be some good deals as well.

tgruenke
As a person new to Musky fishing this has been helpful as well. You can spend a lot of money fast in this sports and you might as well have useful lures.
cbrooks
I suppose the average musky lure will be 5 inches on the small size to 10 or even 12 inches on the big size. I don't think there's a musky lure too big. The biggest lure I use is 14 inch jake or one pound bulldawg. For starters I'll suggest your three lures to be different sizes, so you have a variety(small, medium, and large) to start with. I hope this answers your question. jigginjim
When it came to bulldawgs I use the uptown. Is that the same as everyone else? I have also been trying to help another guy to decide what to get.
Esox_Magnum
I use all style of dawgs and Super D's. Would be tough to pick just 3 baits but my 3 would be a 9" deep Wades Wobbler, DCG and a Hellhound.

Rebel9921
After giving it some thoughts... Its IMPOSSIBLE to just go fishing with three lures... but those three are guaranteed to be found in my tackle box... 1. Pink/Pink Double Cowgirl... After that incident on Lake X last August, I will never be caught without at least 2 in my box ever again!!! In fact, I carry a Plano 3700 box full of Pink/Pink Double Cowgirls/Showgirls/Gerry's Girls/Kids...2. Mag Bull/Pro Dawg or Mag SuperD... Those three certainly have their times on the water... You'd might want to throw in a 9" or 11" Curly Sues into the mix...3. MOJO WEAGLE (I cant believe nobody mentioned this)!!! an excellent WTD bait that came through when others failed...
