senco 1
I also looked at the Legend at the show. Seemed narrow up front to me. Liked the price of the Nitro! But the seats are very hard!
Central Bassman
River rat,A Triton 18SE with a 150 for 22K sounds even better. Nitro is making some other boat makers rethink some of their prices and products they are offering and I hope it leads to lower pricing on some of them because right now, in this economy, it doesn't make sense. Great price point boat for Triton that is for sure but they can do that because its the old X series hull... Nothing wrong with that hull design but thats a chime walker hull thats for sure. dudewheresmyboat
The front deck of the legend doesn't even look as wide as my 19'. And I was considering one......other than that a very nice boat and color scheme.
TR21HP
The beam on the Alpha 211 that they had at the show is 94"- 1" less or the same as virtually any other boat made. I too thought it looked narrow, maybe it was the color, I don't know but check specs on any other boat and its the same size. With that being said I talked with Kim Bain Moore as well as the district rep for over 45 minutes on that boat and the attention to detail and the materials they use are better than most and definitely better than the boats they had at the show. Kim talked about the handling and ride and said about the only boat she mentioned would be in the same class would be the Champion. It seemed they really did their homework on this boat and essentially took the best part of other boats and combined them in one. The best part about it is it is priced 10-12K below a Triton or Skeeter and 13K less than a Ranger.
Pherris
The best part about it is it is priced 10-12K below a Triton or Skeeter and 13K less than a Ranger. The beam is as wide in the back of the boat but much narrower in the nose. As far as price the one at the show was 48K and my 2010 Ranger Z521 was 58.5K. The electronics I have make up about 2K of that versus what they had on the boat at the show. One other thing I would consider is resale value. No idea what a used Legend would go for but I do know what used Rangers sell for. Again just food for thought. Not knocking the boat just adding my 2 cents. It seemed like a decent boat overall and Mike is going to contact me for an open water test ride. I am looking forward to it. Seems like a good group of people and if I was not a Ranger fan I would put them in the mix but probably end up with a Bass Cat. Good Fishing!! TR21HP
You are correct Bass N Spear but at least there's a couple of boat makers out there trying to get prices lower even if it's a base boat with no frills.By the way, I'm going to get a demo ride on that Legend that was at the Sportshow, I'll let you guys know about my impressions of the boat as far as handling, ride and overall performance.
