Guess who.....

won first place in the open class. Third place best in show (open class). And set the track record at 2.432 seconds!

My boy Ethan finished fourth so he is moving on to districts in April. He might be getting my wheels and axles and maybe a couple of tenths of an ounce!

Good luck to you son at districts. How old is he? Is this his first big race? Must be very exciting for him. "my wheels and axles"?????

He's 7 and this is his/our first derby. The way I did my axles was a little faster than how I did the axles on his car and since I cannot compete at districts I may as well make his car as fast as possible.

Oh, I think that I understand now. They must of had a dads division and a cubscout division. Is this correct? I can remember when my son and I built his first pinewood derby car and going to the post office to be sure that it was close to the alloted weight. Then when we got to the race, they said that it was over weight. Lucky that a guy had a cordless drill and we just drilled out some of the lead that we placed on the bottom of the car. Again good luck and "Go #53"

you got it. The open class is meant for moms, dads, brothers, sisters, etc. The boys already had there kits and then won another one. I figured why not. Come to find out there where several dads that built cars, and very competitive cars I might add!
