marcum lx-5

ricqik

Question

we have 3 lx-5's. all of them exibit the screen shifting syndrome. better way to explain it is. lift ur tranducer up n down n watch the screen move. marcum told us is was the processor, so they replaced it. back out on the ice n it still doing the same thing. has anyone ran into this problem. is it common or is peeps just excepting it as normal. my previous vex never did this. my old zercum did this too.

Mine is doing this a little bit last time I used it. I had a nick in my transducer cords and needed to replace it so I'm anxious to see if a bad cord may have been contributing to the issue. If not I'll send it in after the ice season is over as I'll need it and can deal with it until then.

we brought the first one in, they reset the timing. didn't work. so they'll check again n see if they'll replace the motor.. it's disappointing to pay almost half a g to have it hiccup on the first outing..

I just noticed mine starting to do this the past weekend (first year on the ice). I was hoping that the lake bottom was moving up and down but no such luck. Not doing it all the time, but not what I paid for. My Clearwater Classic never did this ever in the 10+ years of service.

picked up all 3 lx-5 back from marcum. one of them they replaced the brushes for excessive wear(used twice) n reset the timing. the other 2 they replaced the motor n reset timing. so we'll see how it goes the next few outings..

Sent my LX5 in and received it back in less than a week. Tried it out for about 8 hours of fishing in the last couple of days and didn't have any problems! I sent an email asking what the problem was \but they never contacted me back.

OK..now I'm curious....How much is the bottom rising and falling when it does this?

An inch, 6"...1'...or several feet up and down?

Does it do it in Zoom Mode, or just on the bottom...or both?

Does it do this on soft or hard bottom conditions, or both?
