lawman
I have seen the Fishouflage products on their HSOforum and have seen TV types like the Lindners wearing this gear. It looks cool. Where can you go to get some? The company HSOforum doesn't give any purchase info.

Tim_Anderson
I bought some shirts from a company at the musky show (Blaine Expo) a couple of years ago. It just says "Musky Camouflage" on the pocket. Can't remember the name of the guys company though? Something "Jack" with a pirate type logo. It might eventually come to me! Or maybe somebody else knows what I am talking about? It is basically like a Columbia or Gander summer fishing shirt. Thin, ventilated and quick to dry. But it is blue and white camo to match the sky. I like the stuff cuz it helps cover my movements when I'm working fish by the boat, which literally happens just about every time I'm out. Any thing at all that helps me not to spook fish in those kind of conditions is well worth it, I think.

Tim_Anderson
Dtro - I think it makes me blend with the sky. Better than a black shirt for instance, which would make it easier for those muskies to pick up my LARGE profile doing the big circle (no matter how smooth I may appear to be). Do you disagree, or do you want some too!
goblueM
i think its amusing that folks shell out so much money for this stuffjust go to Goodwill and buy a $3 shirt that blends in with the sky. I agree with Tim though, particularly when trout fishing I try to wear colors that blend into the sky or the background vegetation. It really does make a difference. As for muskies... if they aren't scared of the giant boat right there, i don't think they will spook if you are wearing a weird color shirt. But then again might as well play every advantage you can get when you only see a limited number of fish
DTro
Well in my case, a black shirt with a big full moon and little fog would be best I have no idea how fish see, but I’m surprised that the color of your boat and or the clothes you wear could spook a fish. But I guess if that fish has seen everything it gets pretty conditioned huh?
fishwater
Fishouflage isn't to allow you to blend with the sky , it's basically a camo pattern with some fish details blended in for added bling. Check out Lakewood cases, they offer them in fishouflage now...
cjac
Tim, You are thinking of the "Sky Camo" shirts that Borovsky was selling a couple years ago at the Expo.Check out Under Armour in blue digital camo. I found a long sleeve sweatshirt style one for $20 in the bargain cave at 'belas....wouldn't pay $90 for it but $20 it isn't too bad. It may belp on a Fig 8 with spooking a fish, but my technique still has far more to do with it.....operator error scares off more than my clothes! DTro
I actually emailed the company about a year ago (and also about a month ago) requesting a Catfish pattern. Nothing yet.....
cjac
Muskie Camaflauge was by a now defunct company called "Calico Jacks Tackle".......Catfish Camo..... I'd wear that!
croixflats
Do the make hats also. In my case I think if the body was disguised the big ole head will really scare em off not to mention the boat next to me.
Tim_Anderson
cjac - you are right - Calico Jack. I bought several shirts from him a couple of years ago. He gave me a good deal and I still wear them.dtro - believe me - I and many others have scared muskies with our sudden movements above water level (the classic turn and burn boatside is one of my most dreaded musky attitudes). True (as was mentioned), technique is most critical, but I will take all the help I can get when it comes to spooky fish. Equipment like sky matching shirts and 9 foot rods are all a part of the equation that spells success. But then, if you ever fished something other than those bottom feeders, you may have experienced some of this yourself and you wouldn't be so surprised! What kind of skill does it take to blend with the night sky?Ha!I've yet to catch a giant cat, so I guess I'd better just shut up.Alright, now lets let this thread get back on track.
